Large fossil Chesapecten scallop shell found while searching for Megalodon shark teeth.
Recovered from the (Pliocene) Yorktown Formation of an ancient seabed in North Carolina.
Good preservation. A few holes and some barnacles. Solid and heavy. Nice symmetrical shape. Excellent adductor muscle scar on interior. Nice
shell.
Measures approximately 5.62" W.
No repairs. See photos for condition.
