Petri dishes are commonly used to cultivate mushrooms, culture microbes or to observe plant germinations.  They can also be used as an enclosed environment for observing insects or serve as a display case.
These dishes are manufactured by a process that renders the glass highly accommodating to sterilization and autoclaving
They are designed with uniform thickness and size.
